Momentousness is a term used to indicate the ability to transform an instant into a moment, that is something worth sharing. #BeyondTheMoment is a mixed media installation activated by a performance in which the performer is free to wonder around while creating content for their Instagram profile. It deals with the construction of oneʼs own digital identity and how this is related to online content production. Momentousness, in fact makes content both specifically refer to oneʼs own experience while making it relatable to all of its receivers at the same time. However, it had also led to stereotyped content production -especially image wise- until it was disrupted by the introduction of ʻStoriesʼ, which allow the user to upload content and show it for 24 hours. The ephemerality of these images prompted users to experiment beyond the safe borders of momentousness therefore opening to a whole new kind of content and to diverse ways to shape oneʼs own digital identity.
